Gay Antwerp

Welcome to Gay Antwerp.
Winter

20/01/10

Well - a cold start to the year (the snow was pretty for a while though), but the first Hot weekend coming up with Antwerp Leather Pride.
The rest of the year looks to be even more exciting than 2009. Antwerp Pride at the end of June is the highlight, but for those who wish to extend their stay, one week later we have the Tour de France passing through, with the Tall Ships Race Summer

Antwerp Pride is over now, and appeared to be even more successful than last years. You'll find a number of videos over on the media page.

Well June is here again, with another Antwerp Pride on it's way. With the Rubzz now in the hands of Ray Garnier, some of the harder edge has gone from the place, and there have been some unusual occurrences there in the past week. The Scenario is presently closed with its future unknown.

Well, the Rubbzz is closed. It's always sad to see one of the premier venues close, but we hope that Erwin is successful in his attempts to reopen elsewhere. In the meantime, Afterparties with the same ambience will be at the Oink Club

Well Antwerp Pride is over!
From NaviGAYtion, which was giving away free tickets at the entrance, to FalcomFair which had the support of Naughty and O Radio amongst others as well as the live performances at Ramblas Saturday had something for everyone!
A Hard Night on the Friday was well attended, and Saturday was blessed by Fantastic weather.
Let us hope that everyone can come together to put on an even bigger and better event next year!

We're pleased to be able to report that our attempts to promote Antwerp as a gay destination are starting to bear fruit, with the publication of an article by yours truly in the British Gay magazine "Bent" ( http://mag.bent.com issue 112 page 54).
It's been hot in the city, with temperatures hitting 27°C. Lets' hope it continues and we have equally good weather for Antwerp Pride!

03/04/08

Antwerp Pride looks to be getting bigger and bigger! With the announcement of Falcom Fair as a major free event, there will definitely be something for everybody!
We're proud to be working together with the City Tourism service to promote Antwerp as a gay destination.

Well, things change quickly in Antwerp. Popi has been bought by somebody else (Red & Blue I believe), and will reopen in the beginning of March
As you can see from the home page, we are constantly working on the site, and are pleased to offer the Google translation service to our visitors. For an automatic translation tool, this actually appears to give reasonably grammatically correct Dutch!

It's good to be able to report some good news for a change! Kurt, who was previously at the Rubbzz, and it's previous incarnation - Captain Caveman, has just opened a new bar on Klapdorp called (I believe - I'm a little bit fuzzy on this thanks to the glasses of pink bubbly stuff I enjoyed at the opening party last night) "Canario". One of the really nice things is that it is going to be open during the day (Tues-Sun 11:00 - ... ). We wish him all the best with his new venture.

Unfortunately the Lady's Palace has now closed as, it would appear, Popi has.
